non-profit organizations which provide free commute
information on carpooling, vanpooling, and public transit. Each
TMA serves a different area of the state based on your travel destination.

TRANSIT has several programs that benefits employers and their
employees. Each of these programs has been outlined below. To

Get a Job. Get a Ride! Program
NJ
Transit offers new employees of any participating company, a free
monthly pass for either the bus or train to commute to their new
job. The criteria for receiving these free monthly passes is as
follows:
- the
new employee must be able to use a NJ TRANSIT bus or train to
reach their new employment site.

they
must be leaving public assistance or unemployment for at least
thirty-days before taking the new position

their
starting salary must be less than $10 an hour
-
they
must be over 18 years of age and not a full-time student
Business Transit Alliance (BTA)
A
free program assisting businesses throughout New Jersey, New
York and Philadelphia with promoting public transit to their
employees. This program provides each participating company
with a NJ TRANSIT bus and rail schedules, display racks, transit
training workshops, relocation assistance, transportation
day events and assistance with their transit service development.
Business
Pass provides employers the opportunity to offer their employees
a pre-tax benefit toward their commute on public transit through
payroll deductions. Using the pre-tax option, employers save
on payroll costs, while employees save on their taxes. Participation
in Business Pass allows employees to receive their bus and rail
passes directly at their work site.
Transit
Chek is a voucher that is accepting by transit providers throughout
the Tri-State area. It may be offered as a subsidy or as a pre-tax
benefit similar to Business Pass.
